Special Projects

Hall Special Projects is our newest and most rapidly expanding division

Special Projects was created to more effectively service existing but previously under realised / serviced sectors.

As may be anticipated considering the origins of the division, much of this workload is civil engineering in nature. Our core business is to undertake large municipal contracts for Local Authorities, usually in a partnered arrangement. We have enjoyed much success in this field and continue to work hard to strengthen this market sector.

However, the divison is not confined to any one specific activity - within Special Projects we also undertake development contracts and generate specialist areas of new business.

Central to the way we do business is to really understand the client and their individual requirements necessary to really make their projects a success. We want a client to value the relationship developed when working collaboratively with us - and to want to repeat the process many more times!

Examples of Special Projects contracts:

Toll Gavel Beverley special Projects Hall Group Thin Surfacing

Toll Gavel Beverley

This multi-million pound scheme saw the complete transformation of the busy pedestrian corridor between the Wednesday and Saturday Market areas of Beverley. The photograph shows this ancient thoroughfare and the improvement brought to the environment. This entire project was undertaken whilst the local businesses remained fully open, requiring considerable planning, consultation and flexible working practices.

Thin Surfacing

Special Projects have completed over £5m of specialist highway surfacing projects in the East Riding of Yorkshire region in 2007 and 2008. This includes traditional thin surfacing, surface dressing and slurry sealing.

Bridlington Spa Environs

This project was an extensive redevelopment of Bridlington’s sea front spanning over 1km along the length of the
beach and covering a 5 metre elevation. The project incorporated installation of bespoke artistic features such as
printed glass screens, LED flags, jet cut granite feature paving and purpose made lighting. Extensive earthworks were
needed to be carried out for this development and a substantial amount of soft landscaping too. Bespoke drainage
systems were installed for this development and state of the art vibrationless steel sheet piling. Special projects
incorporated a great deal of skill, experience and innovation into this project which shows in the quality of the result.
